| Procedure for Disbursement of Subsidy on the Imported Whole Gram Black |
Please refer to EPD Circular Letter No. 8 dated July 12, 2006 in terms of which the subsidy of Rs. 8 per Kg on imported whole gram black (for splitting into Dal Channa) was allowed.
Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock have now clarified that the said subsidy is available on import of gram/ chick peas having botanical name as Cicer Arietinum. Yellow peas are not eligible for the said subsidy.
Authorized Dealers are, therefore, advised to forward claims ensuring compliance of above requirement by way of asking importers to submit an evidence showing botanical name of the gram/chick peas being imported as “Cicer Arietinum”. The said evidence which may be in the form of Phytosanitary Certificate issued by the concerned agency of the exporter’s country should be submitted by the Authorized Dealer alongwith the application for subsidy claim.
